SOUTH WEST DIRECTION (NAIRUTYA) - Part 1

The name itself suggests the demon in it.  The North East direction is the direction of the Gods whereas the South West direction is that of the demons.Two diverse aspects are continuously challenging each other from the beginning of Creation such as God – Demon; Good – Bad; Male – Female; Day – Night; Success – Failure; Fame – Disgrace and others. Due to the existence of negative aspects one is able to appreciate the positive and vice versa.

The Demon Nairuti is the ruler of this direction.  His city is known as 'Krishnang' and is synonymous to darkness. His vehicle is human being and therefore the human race is constantly in the grip of problems and demonic forces.  These problems ultimately give the strength to develop the fighting spirit in individuals. South West is the region of the Earth element that is heaviness and is the right choice for the master bed room for the family head.

The intensity of the Infra Red Rays is very high in the light of the afternoon Sun that is moving towards sunset.  This is harmful for human beings. Hence, this region should have minimum doors and windows. It should also have extra thick walls , big trees with dense foliage and minimum open space which will obstruct the high intensity  infra red rays from entering the vastu.

Brahmatatva & Vastushastra

One ninth of the total area of a house is called Brahmatatva or the core centre of the Vastu.  Just as the navel has an importance and role in the human body, the core center of a house is equally important.  Normally, after drawing a proper map of the house the  outer boundaries are extended so as to complete a square or rectangle.

The core centre should be open and should not have any beam column or heavy articles. Just as applying pressure on the navel upsets the body functions, similarly pressure on the core centre of the vastu results in lack of co-ordination and disharmony in the life of inmates.  The prevalence of such a vastu defect particularly in a work environment results in utter lack of harmony characterized by a sense of aloofness or self importance amongst the employees contributing to chaos and division.

The head of the family should not sleep or work in the core center. This is because despite the entire planning being immaculate, the implementation may become chaotic. The abode of God should not be in the core centre or even to the North East of centre. Otherwise, this may result in heightened activities of unseen forces or departed beings.

Pits, water, slopes, toilet or bathrooms must never be located in the Brahmatatva. Otherwise, it may result in series of debacles and probably the family may suffer from want of progeny. In big mansions, the core centre is left fully open enabling the Sun Rays to penetrate the vastu.The core centre is not conducive for meditation, introspection or any such kind of activities.

Roads around the Plot as per Vastushastra

While selecting a plot an important consideration is the road from which the entry into the plot is made. The position of the road will determine the auspicious direction of entry into the plot.

If the road is in the East side of plot we can enter the same through East or North East which is very auspicious.
                                                        

It is possible to have entrance through North or North East, in a plot with road in the North and is auspicious.
                                                          

In a plot with road to the West, the entrance can be planned from West-North West.

                                   
If the road is to the South of the plot, the entrance can be had from South-southeast (Agneya) which is beneficial.

                                                        

Demarcation of the directions such as South-South East or West-North West etc. should be done under the guidance of an expert to ensure correctness of the direction. Location of road in the East or North of the plot is considered auspicious while road in the South and

West direction is considered inauspicious. Based on these factors, we can determine the positive and negative aspects of a plot with reference to the location of the road and main entrance to the plot.

PLACEMENT OF WATERBODY AS PER VASTUSHASTRA

In every vastu it has become essential to have an underground and overhead water tank.  An underground water tank should necessarily be in the North East direction or in the alternative in the East or North direction.  But, this underground tank should not be in the axis/latitude of North East direction.

In essence, an underground water tank between North to East direction ensures comprehensive progress. An underground water tank in the North East implies less weight and the water therein absorbs the ultra violet rays from the sunlight in large quantity.  This purifies the water and the energy emanating from it are very good for the brain cells.  For all these reasons an underground water storage in the North East is auspicious and beneficial.

The overhead water tank should be in the South West or alternatively from the South to West region.  The placement of the overhead water tank in the South West  increases the weight in this region which in turn results in greater stability.  Location of underground or overhead tank in any other direction leads to vastu defects.  This  causes interruption of energy waves and consequently gives rise to unprecedented problems whose intensity can be severe and at times even fatal.

Type of Plots and their Advantages & Disadvanages

According to Vastushastra the whole plot should be otherwise flat with a slope in the North East direction and elevation, heaviness in the South West direction. However, it is not possible to find such ideal plots at every place. The slopes and elevation differ in each plot irrespective of its size. Accordingly, the plots are classified based on the different directions of the slope.

Govidhi Plots:

In such plots there is a rise in the West and slope in the East. They are good in all respects.

Jalvidhi Plots:

There is an elevation in the East and slope towards the West. Such plots will lead to failures, poverty and loss of reputation on a large scale.

Gajvidhi Plots:

In such plots there is a rise in the South and slope towards the North. Such plots are extremely beneficial. It confers lot of wealth, fame and fortune to the owner.

Dhanvidhi Plots:

Such plots feature a rise in the South West and slope towards North East. This is considered most auspicious of all and confers wealth, power, honour, reputation and happiness.

Bhutvidhi Plots:

As the name itself suggests such plots are inauspicious. Here the rise is in North East and the slope is towards South West. This type of plot brings ill luck, failures in life, debts and loss of reputation. In short, such plots strike at the very roots of life and are considered inauspicious.

Nagvidhi Plots:

Here the slope is from the South East (Agneya) to North West (Vayavya). Hence, the South East is higher than South West and North West is lower than North East. This will lead to failure, obstacles, acrimony, fear of fire and legal cases.

Kitchen as per Vastushastra

While designing a house as per Vastushastra , the kitchen should be invariably located in South East (Aagneya) and the master bedroom should be planned in South West direction.  Kitchen is the main place of activity of the female members in the family.  Hence it is essential that the design and atmosphere in the kitchen should be conducive for the physical and mental well being of the female members.

A kitchen should have window in the East and the gas stove should be so located that the housewife faces East direction while cooking.  The morning Sun rays contribute to health and hygiene of the kitchen. Consequently, the atmosphere in the kitchen is pleasant and blissful. Creation of such a pleasant atmosphere, for a person using the same place for a prolonged period of time, will result in enhanced productivity and suitable mind-body synchronization.According to medical science, the health of the liver indicates  the health of the body.  If the kitchen is located in South West (Nairutya) instead of South East (Aagneya) it is indicative of heavy financial loss.  It may also result in wastage of cooked food and mental unhappiness of the housewife.

A kitchen located in North West (Vayavya) direction can cause increased quarrels amongst the family members  and envy from people close to the family.  If the kitchen is in the North East direction, it can cause an adverse effect on health, academic progress of children and family income.  Similarly, if the kitchen is in the South East, the housewife is happy and content.  Otherwise, it can lead to lack of health of the housewife and consequent disruption of all the activities of the house.  Location of the kitchen in South East will therefore be a boon to the entire family and the housewife in particular.

Shape of the Plots - Vastushastra

When we intend to purchase a plot and conduct a search, we encounter plots with a variety of shapes. A look at a map of the world will reveal that there are as many shapes as there are nations and there is no similarity in them.

• According to Vastushastra the plot should be square or rectangular. The pulse vibrations in such a Vastuare harmonic and even. This leads to good atmosphere, purity , happiness and prosperity.

                                                 

• Hexagonal plots are also conducive to progress and prosperity.
